We are thrilled to invite you to the League of Minority Voters' Liberty & Hope Awards Gala.

The event is our premier fundraising opportunity in support of our High School Speech and Debate Leadership Program. The gala is scheduled for Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hilton Doubletree, Lloyd Center.

This year’s theme is “Celebrating the Stars of Democracy.”

Previous galas have drawn over 300 attendees, including elected officials from diverse political affiliations, business executives, clergy representing a variety of faiths, and other community leaders. This year, we will celebrate the contributions of outstanding individuals who embody the spirit of unity and empowerment in Oregon.

In addition to recognizing this year’s honorees, we celebrate past recipients who have significantly advanced community empowerment and civic engagement. This distinguished group includes the late Congressman John Lewis, former Governor Barbara Roberts, Nike Founder Phil Knight, and many others who have left a lasting legacy.

The League of Minority Voters is a nonpartisan organization committed to identifying bipartisan solutions to societal challenges. Guided by a diverse leadership team, the League addresses critical issues impacting communities of color, new citizens, and minorities across Oregon.

The League was co-founded by Promise King, a veteran journalist, currently writing for the Salem Business Journal and a former advisor to state and local elected officials.

We stand at a pivotal moment in addressing the racial and political divisions within our society. The work of our honorees and supporters like you is essential to bridging these divides and fostering a stronger, more unified community.
