I am so proud to be a member of Team Marisa’s Mission and to run the 128th Boston Marathon in honor of Marisa Federico.  I am committed to crossing the finish line and raising funds to help patients and families dealing with the devastating diagnosis of cancer.

I grew up in the Town of Braintree and went to elementary school, middle school and high school with Marisa and Lauren Federico.   When I was asked to join the Board of Marisa’s Mission in 2018, I did not hesitate to say, “yes!”  I wanted to join the Board to give back to my community and to make a difference for an incredible cause.  As a member of the Grants Committee, I review and summarize grant applications so that the Board can discuss providing financial assistance to cancer patients and their families (e.g., rent payments, mortgage payments, travel and lodging, medical bills, memorable family trips).  The grant recipients are often brought to tears when they learn of their grant.  I am thrilled to have the opportunity to run my first marathon in Boston, to continue to share Marisa’s story and to run Boston for Marisa in 2024.

At Marisa’s Mission, our goal is to keep the spirit of our namesake, Marisa Federico, alive by alleviating the financial burdens caused by cancer to patients and families through out Massachusetts. We provide hope, support, and the means to focus on what matters most: their health and well being as a family. Marisa’s Mission grants a maximum of $10,000 per patient/family through four major programs: Home Assistance, Care, Travel/Lodging and Special Trips.  We understand the turmoil caused by this disease and how it not only impacts the individual, but also extends its reach to the entire family.  Since 2017, we have been fortunate enough to grant over $1.0 Million worth of support to patients, families, and hospitals across Massachusetts.  Your support not only facilitates our mission, but also amplifies the positive impact we can make.  Learn more about Marisa and Marisa’s Mission at www.Marisas-Mission.org.
