Someone recently asked me if and how I give back to my community.
Let me tell you a little story.
When I'm not out serving legal papers as a process server, or working as a construction safety manager, I volunteer as a Patrol and Dispatch Supervisor for Shmira Public Safety, a 100% volunteer public safety organization serving the Los Angeles area.
A few months ago, at 4 am, I was at home sleeping when the dispatcher put out an urgent call on our radios for a suspect who was breaking into cars stealing items in the tarzana neighborhood.
One other local unit immediately responded and requested a backup unit.
without thinking twice, I jumped up and within 60 seconds I was dressed and running out the front door of my house letting the dispatcher know that I was responding with a 3 minute eta.
3 minutes later I pulled up on scene and assisted the victim with filling out the necessary paperwork and witness statements while the police who were just pulling up had beat me to the location and we're taking the suspect into custody and putting him in the back of the police car.
This is how I give back to my community.
Please help me in my mission and donate whatever you can afford. Thanks!
