Tutored and Gifted was founded by Jazmune Jenkins, a former Pleasant Grove Principal and Dallas native. Over the 8 years of leading in the Grove, it became obvious of the financial burdens stricken by the community. In Dallas zip codes 75227, 75217 many families earn $15,000 less than the city average. With 1 in 6 families living in poverty, back-to-school costs often become overwhelming—and school uniforms are one of the biggest hurdles.

Tutored and Gifted, a youth-focused nonprofit based in Pleasant Grove, is hosting our first-ever Back-to-School Uniform Drive August 9, 2025. Our goal is to provide 150+ students with uniforms, meals, and a day filled with joy and support.
