In 2010, an unprecedented incident unfolded at the University of California, Irvine, where a group of students, the "Irvine 11," ignited a nationwide conversation on free speech, campus activism, and the consequences of disruptive protests. This event reshaped the way we think about student political engagement.

Now, we invite you to join us for a unique event where you'll have the incredible opportunity to hear directly from the Irvine 11 themselves, in conversation with MPower's Executive Director, Linda Sarsour.

What to Expect:

Unveiling Stories of Previous Activists:
The Irvine 11 will share their personal experiences, recounting the disruptive activism that led to their arrests and the subsequent debates on free speech and student political opposition.

The panel will discuss their first-hand experiences of being arrested for disruptive activism and how to plan for student advocacy and organizing on college campuses.
Empowering Student Advocacy:
Gain valuable insights and strategies for effective student advocacy and organizing on college campuses, especially in today's charged political climate.

The virtual event will allow students to learn more about front-line advocacy, how to deal with digital and physical threats on campus, and gain more advice and perspective.
Call to Action:

Following the panel discussion, Linda Sarsour, a prominent activist, will lead a call to action, inspiring you to get involved and make a difference in your community.
