Since 2019, we have provided workshops, resources, and tools that help families navigate education systems, advocate for their children, and build strong communities. ConnectED – Parents as Partners in Education.

Led by the MindShiftED Parent Institute, the ConnectED campaign is about bringing REAL CHANGE to how schools communicate, engage, and collaborate with families, especially those from underrepresented communities.

The Parent Partnership Pledge and the Parent Bill of Rights are complementary tools that work hand in hand to build a foundation of trust, transparency, and collaboration between families and schools. While the Pledge outlines a shared commitment to values such as communication, inclusion, and advocacy, the Bill of Rights affirms the concrete rights parents should expect and exercise within the education system. Together, they provide both the spirit and structure for meaningful family engagement—ensuring that parents are not only welcomed but empowered to shape the educational experiences and outcomes of their children. By aligning our actions with both, we commit to making the vision of true parent-school partnership a lived reality in every classroom and campus.

As parents ourselves, we understand the significance of our role in our children's education. We firmly believe in the power of parental involvement and openness in fostering a supportive and conducive learning environment for our kids. This is not a unique sentiment, many studies have evidenced the positive impact of parental engagement on students' academic performance and psychological well-being.

We respectfully request our local education authorities to uphold and enforce a 'Commitment Pledge for Parents as Partners.' This initiative, rooted in the principles of Communication, Parent Involvement, Special Education, and Data and Testing Transparency, seeks to create a collaborative, equitable, and empowering environment for all families.

We believe this commitment can drastically reshape our education landscape, creating a richer, more inclusive and efficient system in which parents and educators work hand-in-hand towards the success of each student. Moreover, this pledge will ensure that special needs children are given equal opportunities and all families are kept informed about their child's growth, performance, and potential.
