Moving Violations Motorcycle Club's 39th Annual Benefit Run to Support Helping Our Women

For over 30 years, Helping Our Women has been the trusted resource for women living with chronic or serious health conditions in the rural Outer Cape Cod towns of Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro and Provincetown. Through personalized outreach, HOW educates, empowers and supports their client members to take control of their healthcare, well-being, and diverse needs by connecting them to our services, government benefits, community partners and health and wellness education. In June, Helping Our Women will open their second location bookending their services in the Outer Cape towns they serve to increase services and health and wellness programs to all women, including those living off Cape Cod via online workshops and seminars.

Riders will begin the run at the starting point of Cape Cod, at the Sagamore Bridge. They'll continue down to the sandy spit of the Outer Cape to celebrate the run's end with a pizza party at HOW's new center in Eastham. The Ann Maguire Women's Wellness Center at HOW is named after the recently deceased founding volunteer of HOW and incredible LGBTQ+ activist, breast cancer research advocate and campaign manager for some of the most groundbreaking politicians in New England's history. Many remember Ann's radio show and two, safe space bars - Sisters in Provincetown and Somewhere in Boston, as well as her tireless volunteerism.

Beneficiary Run participants ride in honor of Ann Maguire and celebrate her legacy by raising vital funds for an organization close to Ann's heart - Helping Our Women.

Helping Our Women's programs and services include:

Personalized Support: Advocacy, help with applications, referrals to partner agencies, and benefits information for our close to 300 client members
Transportation to Health and Wellness Appointments: Provides women with rides to medical appointments both on Cape Cod and in Boston and for other health-related needs
Financial Assistance Program: Monthly financial support to women with limited incomes to help ease the economic burden of living with chronic health conditions. Helps to pay for alternative care treatments as well as utilities. Emergency funds are also available
Food and Personal Products Pantry: Free and accessible food and personal care products, gift cards, and the coordination of nutritious meals that help to eliminate additional stressors so that client members may concentrate on their healing and wellness
Health and Wellness Programming: Support Groups, Peer-to-Peer Wellness Coaching, and Education Series that provide opportunities for women to learn, connect, and grow on their healthcare journeys. Workshops and groups will now be available online to reach women off-Cape via the center's tech capabilities.
