In honor of Madelyn Jones Guy, this initiative has been started by her granddaughter, Kristina Newsom to support accessibility for the families in our program at Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear.

This fund will serve as a resource for our families for life enrichment activities, emergency child care funds, and assistance for when needed (such as a portion of a security deposit), etc.

About Madelyn:

Madelyn was a faithful servant and a devoted individual who strongly believed in her values. With her medical background as a head delivery nurse and her determined attitude toward politics, she served both the county and its people. She lived a faithful life and selflessly assisted others in their growth and development. She instilled the belief in others that they can achieve their goals with determination and a positive mindset. I started this fund so that others in need to have an extra resource to help them achieve their goals, and believe in the power of self and perseverance.

About Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear:

Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear provides emergency shelter to families facing a homeless crisis and transitional housing to families that are victims of domestic violence. We aim to ensure every child has a safe place to call home.
