Magic School Supplies

Magic School Supplies is a non-profit based in Byhalia, Mississippi. We specialize in providing high-quality, affordable school supplies to kids in kindergarten through eighth grade. Our Supply-A-Backpack Program helps with providing students with a new backpack filled with school supplies. These supplies help teachers insure kids have supplies to help improve preparedness, confidence, and class participation. The non-profit was founded by our founder Caterrica Smith a Byhalia, MS native and Byhalia High Allum. Caterrica is a logistics expert who spent the last decade working for one of the world's largest 3PLs in transportation. Caterrica left the logistics industry to start a non-profit organization aimed at helping students and teachers.

Proof: Of Mississippi's 1,116,509 households in 2021.

• 20% earned below the Federal Poverty Level (FPL)
• 32% were ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed), in households that earned above the FPL but not enough to afford the basics in the communities where they live
• Combined 52% of households in Mississippi were below the ALICE Threshold (poverty + ALICE divided by total households)
