WNC Marriage & Family Initiative exists to elevate Marriage enrichment education programs both locally and nationally, with a goal aimed at reducing divorce rates by supporting the local church's mission to Make Marriage Great Again. Stronger Marriages create Stronger Families, Stronger Churches, Stronger Communities, and a Stronger, more resilient North Carolina.

We provide a clearinghouse and hands-on support for marriage education resources to WNC churches and organizations, as well as aiding local couples with mentoring, marriage coaching, date nights, relationship classes, marriage enrichment retreats, and counseling connections in Hickory, NC, and surrounding zip codes.

In 2025, over 1500 families were impacted by the efforts that we fostered through our initiatives to aid families with disaster relief after Hurricane Helene, as well as our marriage ministry programs. We want to make 2026 even more impactful, but we need your financial support to do so. We have a hefty goal this Giving Tuesday of raising $50,000 of our $150,000 budget for marriage-specific ministry in 2026. This represents .50 cents per individual in the counties of Western North Carolina that we currently serve. We recently calculated our ministry costs to aid a church in developing a marriage ministry at $2500 and to impact a single marriage experiencing relationship difficulties at $1500 per couple. Our services are provided at no charge to both the church and to the couples who need assistance.
