The 35 dogs we took in on our last trip to Türkiye - some from an illegal breeding operation, others whose stories we’ll never fully know - are the lucky ones. They could have been among the bodies in those shelter videos - discarded, euthanized, unnamed…but Emre squeezed them in without a rescue safety net.

Last week, the dire state of dog rescue in Türkiye was shoved in front of our faces and became all too real. Dozens, euthanized and thrown into trash bags in the blink of an eye.💔
