Mrs. Stacey Elizabeth Smith-Cartier is a beloved mother, sister, wife, and friend. She was found deceased in her apartment on September 15, 2023. We are grieving her death as a community.

Mrs. Stacey Smith lived in her truth every day. She held up her commitment as a loving wife, leaving behind children biological and adopted, friends who have been as close as family, and animals who were her dearest companions.

Anyone who had passed through or taken residence in this city for the past 61 years has been influenced by her legacy - from Empire Roller Rink, to CUNY’s John Jay College, to the NYC Department of Education’s public school bus system, to New York City PRIDE.

We have created this fundraiser to assist her son, Queens, in organizing a peaceful memorial service for his mother. This fund will be used to relieve the financial burden on Queens who is in his last year of college at North Carolina A&T. We lovingly ask for help to cover the cost of expenses from travel, cremation, a funeral service, and veterinary care for the pets who were by her side while her spirit transitioned from its physical body.

Her presence in our lives is irreplaceable. Please help to support us in giving Mrs. Stacey Smith-Cartier the beautiful send off that she deserves. In gratitude, and community, thank you in advance from the family of Mama Queens.
