Every day foxes in our community suffer silently from a painful and debilitating skin affliction called mange. Without treatment these beautiful intelligent animals will endure extreme discomfort, hair loss, organ failure, and eventually death.

Giving these foxes a fighting chance starts long before treatment begins…..

While rehabilitation focuses on the treatment and recovery process, rescue is the critical first step. Our rescue plays a vital role in helping bridge the gap between local animal controls (who often lack the time or resources to respond to wildlife cases) and wildlife rehabilitators (who often don't have the manpower to go out into the field to facilitate the actual rescue).

Rescue efforts involve tracking and monitoring (sometimes for days or even weeks) baiting, setting and monitoring traps, then safely transporting them to licensed wildlife rehabilitators. These efforts are often labor intensive and require equipment, fuel, bait, supplies, and hours worth of time. Last fall our fox rescue efforts even landed me in the ER!

Without rescue effort so many of these foxes would fall through the cracks. We are committed to stepping in so these animals can get the help they need before it’s too late.

Last fall, with the help of compassionate community members like you, we successfully rescued multiple foxes suffering from mange and transported them to a local rehabilitor for treatment. Every life saved proves how powerful we can be when we come together!

With the spring season upon us mangy fox sightings have already begun to rise. Your support is more critical than ever as the mange will get worse as the weather continues to get warmer. The time to get them help is now!
