Properly sized heating and cooling systems help ensure HVAC runs more efficiently and dehumidifiers better and may reduce system costs. Some codes, energy, and green programs also require this. Meeting some of these may make home projects eligible for credit and incentives. This course will walk attendees through creating a "block load" heat loss/heat gain calculation using ACCA Manual J v8 procedures. It will demonstrate what areas of home construction have the greatest impact on a load and how to interpret the results of a Manual J report to select equipment size properly. This includes identifying if a home is a strong candidate for zoning or multi-stage equipment. We will also discuss what role these requirements in play in residential green building program requirements like LEED for Homes and etc. Continuing Education Units (CEUS) submitted 1 hour in* • Green Business Certification Inc.
