Martin's Medical Fundraiser

Last weekend, our sweet boy Martin had to undergo an emergency surgery. There was an accident between him and another resident, that ended with an on site visit from the vet. Luckily, 2 of our animal caregivers were there to feed the animals dinner when it happened, and were able to help Martin as soon as they realized something was wrong.

Martin is the sweetest boy and did great during his procedure. With the extent of his injuries, the vet had to partially sedate him so that he could successfully take care of Martin. Sedation can be very scary and sometimes fatal for larger farm animals because it's not as common as sedation for dogs/cats and the dosing can be tricky. Thankfully he did good with the whole procedure and is recovering well so far!

Martin was one of our first sheep residents at Sage Mountain and he's such a sweet heart. We couldn't be more grateful for our amazing vet that made time for Martin last minute to take care of him!

As you may know, medical bills can add up quickly. Especially after the busy month we've had with animal care between Martin, Wednesday and Joey. Martin's total vet bills added up to $447, making our total for vet visits/surgeries between this month and last month $2,770.
So far we've raised $375 total between our 3 fundraisers! We're so incredibly grateful for all the support we've already received, and for all of the support to come!

We'll keep everyone posted with Martin’s recovery as time goes on. Thank you so much!:sheep:
