CuddleCot in Memory of Mason

Giving Families the Gift of Time

Help us provide a CuddleCot in memory of Mason Martin to the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.

A CuddleCot is a small, portable, lightweight unit that enables families experiencing the loss of their baby at any age or gestation to spend more time with them to create memories, bond and say goodbye.

Providing grieving families time through the use of the CuddleCot is internationally encouraged by midwives, bereavement practitioners and academics. Time allows the family to form an important bond with their baby and helps them in dealing with their loss.

MASON'S STORY AS SHARED BY HIS MOM KATELYN

"On August 28 2023 my husband and I went in for an anatomy scan and we were told Mason had bilateral clubfeet and would need to see an orthopedic surgeon for casting after birth. We then had to go in for a fetal echocardiogram and found that Mason also has some heart problems and that we would have to go to Cleveland Clinic for further care. After lots of in-depth testing at Clevland clinic we found out our baby was diagnosed with a very rare lethal genetic disorder called Campomelic skeletal Dysplasia. On January 16th I went in at 38 weeks for my induction and had Mason the next morning on the 17th. Mason was with my husband and I for about 30 minutes before passing away. After spending a couple hours with him, he had changed so much and there wasn’t anything we could do to stop it, Tyler and I decided it was time to say our final goodbye which was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do."
