Why I’m Fundraising for Neurodiverse Network – And Why It Matters
If you’ve followed my journey, you know that my family is deeply connected to the autism community—not just in theory, but in everyday life. My son, Rhys, is proudly, openly, and unapologetically autistic. And as his mom, I have spent years navigating a world that wasn’t built with neurodivergent kids in mind.
But here’s the thing: acceptance isn’t enough.
We live in a world where families of autistic children are still fighting for basic accommodations, where parents are constantly searching for support, and where autistic kids—kids like Rhys—deserve a community that sees them, values them, and meets them where they are. That’s why I’m fundraising for Neurodiverse Network, a local organization making real, tangible change for neurodiverse individuals and their families.
What Neurodiverse Network Does
Neurodiverse Network is a lifeline. They provide:
✅ Sensory-friendly events so kids can participate without being overwhelmed
✅ Parent and caregiver support groups because this journey shouldn’t be walked alone
✅ Educational advocacy and resources to ensure our kids get the services they need
✅ Community-building opportunities so autistic and neurodiverse individuals can thrive—not just fit in
This isn’t about charity—it’s about equity. It’s about making sure that every child, regardless of how their brain works, has access to joy, belonging, and the opportunity to be their full, authentic selves.
Why This Matters to Me
Rhys doesn’t need to be “fixed.” He doesn’t need to be forced into a mold that was never meant for him. What he needs—and what so many autistic kids need—is a world that meets them halfway. A world where they aren’t constantly expected to adapt while everyone else stays the same.
Fundraising for Neurodiverse Network is my way of saying:
- You are seen.
- You are valued.
- You deserve a community that lifts you up.
If you believe in that, too, I’d love your support. Every dollar raised helps create a more inclusive, supportive, and understanding world for neurodiverse kids and adults alike.
Thank you for helping me make this happen. For Rhys. For every neurodiverse individual who deserves better. For a world that embraces true inclusion. ♾️
