Kolewa Medical Outreach

In 2023, Jennifer Davis, a nurse at City of Hope, visited the Kolewa area of Kenya with Tumaini International. There she saw firsthand the desperate need for medical care. This summer, she is partnering again with Tumaini International —Tumaini means “hope” in Swahili—to bring that same spirit of healing and compassion to nine rural villages through a two-day medical outreach.

The two day outreach expects to see at least 500 patients a day, providing access to medical consultations, lab testing, pharmaceuticals and supplies, and support for local staff. Without sufficient funding, the event may be cut to one day leaving hundreds without care. For families with no other access to care, this clinic is a lifeline of hope.
