Mike Holz is the elementary music teacher at Fairfield West Elementary School. Joining the staff in 2016, Mike
has spent his career developing the love for music in our young children through activities in the classroom, the
Westernaires choir, and the district's Orff Ensemble (percussion-based group). Mike is the president-elect of the Greater Cincinnati Orff-Schulwerk Association, a professional organization for music teachers in southwest Ohio. He holds music education degrees from Bowling Green State University and University of Florida, with Orff-Schulwerk certification from Anderson University (IN). Aside from teaching, he enjoys cooking for company, indoor and outdoor gardening, composting, home improvement, and traveling - especially to National Parks around the country.
Mike is honored to have been able to teach two of the Vanoss children (Alayla and Reagan) throughout their time at West. He taught Reagan from first grade through fifth, with many fond memories of our favorite girl. He hopes that his performance at the Mic Drop will be "turning heads!"
