A devastating 2nd wave of the COVID-19 pandemic is sweeping across India, leaving millions food insecure. Even before the pandemic, India struggled with hunger and ranked 102nd out of the 117 countries surveyed in the 2019 Global Hunger Index. With COVID cases rising in record-breaking numbers, India grapples with a once-in-a-lifetime health crisis and a worsening hunger crisis.

Million Meals Mission’s Emergency India COVID Meal Relief Fundraiser aims to provide aid to food insecure communities in India through our partner organisation, Saadi Rasoi, and Mumbai Dhadkan’s #fortheCOVIDwarriors initiative in partnership with Khaana Chahiye.

Saadi Rasoi is a community kitchen in Ludhiana that provides low cost, nutritious meals to daily wage workers, women and children in the local community. Million Meals Mission will contribute to an emergency relief food relief effort in Ludhiana.

Mumbai Dhadkan’s #fortheCOVIDwarriors initiative aims to provide the right nutrition and supplements to frontline workers in Mumbai’s municipal hospitals. Doctors need to have good immunity and this initiative will provide them with a nutritional supplement rich in protein and micronutrients.
