COOP Gallery is excited to announce its second community collage time meet-up! A monthly-ish gathering where artists interested in collage can share materials, skills and conversation. Though not a class, this event will be hosted and facilitated by Melissa Newman, Nashville based collage artist and painter who has been an Instructor of Art at MTSU for over 15 years. This meet up will be at COOP gallery 507 Hagan St, Nashville, TN 37203 on Sunday June 23rd from 1:00-4:00pm. We are currently building a library of supplies for participants to use. In the meantime, here is a list of suggested materials to bring: -scissors and/or x-acto knife -a cutting mat or something else to protect the table surface (thick cardboard, hardback book that you don’t care about) -adhesive of your choice (glue sticks, mod podge, matte medium…probably not sprays?) -collage materials to use and/or share. Melissa will be bringing a stash of supplies to share with the group as well. If you want to gather more, we highly recommend checking out Turnip Green Creative Reuse. Please feel free to bring some previous collage pieces to show off your work to the group. This is by no means required as all skill levels are welcome. ***Due to space limitations, registration is required. There is an optional, suggested donation of $10. Money will go directly to buying future community supplies and to Coop gallery for the generous use of their space.
