UPDATE

November 2024 is our month to raise the last $5K for our 2024 campaign. We need to make a final payment to fully own the last Trishaw bicycle to complete our fleet.

During the winter months we will be pedaling a few brave seniors (wrapped up warm!)

We already have a team of 8 volunteers with the expectation that we can reach 20 volunteers to pilot the bikes by April 2025 so that would make it easier to offer seniors trips nearly every day and for every week from April through September.

July 2024 Update MANHATTAN-MAHOPAC CHALLENGE

We can now announce that two of our regular volunteer pilots Kirin Lawrence and Juan Escamilla are cycling a Trishaw 100 miles on August 12th using the Empire State Trail, to Mahopac and back.

We hope to reach our $25K goal by adding another $10K within the next few weeks to finish paying for our third bike, and cover our insurance and parking costs for the remainder of this year. We are looking for 100 donors to support Kirin and Juan - $1 per mile is the suggested amount. Can you help and also promote this cause?

May 2024 Update:

Thank you everyone for helping us reach our goal! We've successfully purchased 2 additional trishaws since reaching $15k - with one already on its way to NYC from Denmark!

Looking forward:
We're extending our fundraiser goal as we continue to build our fleet of trishaws. It's our hope that more seniors can have a shared experience of riding around the park together.

January 2024 Update:

Help us reach $15,000 to enable senior residents living in Gaylord White Houses in East Harlem, New York to become more mobile this summer!

Give seniors the opportunity to explore the local parks and bicycle routes in community-building breakouts from their neighborhood.

Since 2019, InnerCHANGE East Harlem and teams of volunteers from churches have been connecting with seniors at Gaylord White Houses (GWH), a 20-floor New York City Housing Authority apartment building in East Harlem with over 200 senior residents. IC East Harlem desires for these seniors to live fulfilled and meaningful lives through a sense of community and creativity. There are ample opportunities for the next three years to strengthen relationships through deep listening and social activities with those who live in this building and those who work alongside them.
