When a monastic renounces the householder life and joins the Bhikkhuni Sangha, she becomes dependent on her community for meeting her most basic needs. The Dhammadharini Support Foundation has a commitment to provide medical care for the Bhikkhunis and Samaneris, as one of the Four Requisites.

Aging, sickness, and death are inevitable, but care for the bodies of the monastics is an expression of deep respect and care for this practice, and those who devote their lives to it. Especially for the fledgling Bhikkhuni Sangha, there are many monastics who have had inconsistent support and access to medical care, and having this basic requisite well provided for can make an enormous difference in their well-being.

Donations to this fund provide for preventative treatment, treatment of illness, care such as Chinese Traditional Medicine, medicinal supplements, and medicinal foods.
