11th Annual Cubcat CRAWL - Monster Dash

To benefit Hendersonville Elementary School on Friday, October 13th!

Each year, Cubcats Run And Walk for Learning to raise money for our school. The CRAWL is a fun, family-friendly 1.5- or 3-mile race hosted by the Hendersonville Elementary PTO, with proceeds going to help achieve the financial goals we have set, as approved by Principal Kim Henderson, for the 2023-24 school year. These goals include a significant investment in the Literacy Support Program, purchase of touch boards for classrooms, STEM school support, educational science and reading subscriptions for all K-5 students, teacher allotments for each teacher to purchase basic supplies for their classrooms, breakfast and snacks for all students taking EOG tests, an end of the year celebration for our students, and more.

The CRAWL is not just a race. It is a fun, Halloween activity for the whole family. This year, we'll have Bounce Runs, Trick or Treat area, Costume Contest, and a Dance Party with a live DJ. Join us for Community Partners, Retail Vendors, a Teacher of the Day Raffle, and Concessions for Purchase. Plus, we'll have lots of STEM Activities like the Henderson County Sheriff's Tactical Robot and an Infrared Device & Fire Truck from the Hendersonville Fire Department

Here is what you can expect at the event:

4:30pm Day of Event Registration and Check-in. Visit our vendors and sponsors area! 
Visit with the Hendersonville Fire Department, Henderson County Sheriff Tactical Unit, and Henderson County Emergency Management Services

5:00pm Costume Parade & Contest
Prizes awarded in a variety of categories to include: Funniest, Most Original, Best Storybook Character, Best All-Around, Best Group Costume

5:30pm Dance Party Warm-up
Presented by Momletta, followed by lining up to race, runners first

5:45pm Race begins! 
Enjoy a beautiful run/jog/walk throughout the friendly neighborhood surrounding Hendersonville Elementary. Runners can expect a paved surface, with moderate hills

All children in the race must be accompanied by a registered adult at all times.

4:30-8:00pm Food Options and Concessions Available for Purchase. Complimentary desserts provided by Mini Batch Bakery. Coffee available for purchase from Bare Bones Brew Haus. Cookies & Desserts for purchase from Frosted Apple Bakery and Mini Batch Bakery.

This year, we anticipate over 400 participants, including hundreds of children from HES and surrounding schools, along with dozens of volunteers that will help ensure a successful race. The course will be located throughout the beautiful neighborhood surrounding Hendersonville Elementary.

We are looking forward to our most entertaining race yet, and would be thrilled to have you join in on all the fun! This year's event would not be complete without a costume contest, with prizes being awarded in a variety of categories to include: Funniest, Most Original, Best Storybook Character, Best All-Around, and Best Family costumes! Registration is ONLINE ONLY.

Liability Waiver

By registering for the Cubcat CRAWL, you accept that neither the Henderson County Board of Education, nor any of their employees, teachers, sponsors, agents, or volunteers will assume responsibility for claims resulting from injury to you or your child during participation in this event. Parents are responsible for their child's wherabouts and safety during the entire event.  Each parent/guardian agrees that their child has to be with a registered adult at all times during the race. Children are not permitted to run the race unaccompanied at any time.

By completing this registration, I release the Henderson County Board of Education employees, teachers, sponsors, agents, and volunteers from any responsibility for claims resulting from injury to myself, and/or my child(ren), while involved in the Cubcat CRAWL. I agree to hold harmless and indemnify the Henderson County Board of Education, employees, teachers, sponsors, agents, or volunteers from any and all claims, actions and causes of actions which might hereafter be entered against it or them on account of any injuries or property damage sustained by such child or adult, such indemnity to run to court costs, attorney’s fees, judgments, settlements and other expenses and without limitation.

Media release: Event registration also grants Hendersonville Elementary School and others associated with the HES Cubcat CRAWL, the right and permission to use and publish the photographs/film/videotapes/electronic representations and/or sound recordings made regarding the event. It hereby releases these groups from any and all liability from such use and publication, as well as authorizes the reproduction, sale, copyright, exhibit, broadcast, electronic storage and/or distribution of said photographs/film/videotapes/electronic representations and/or sound recordings without limitation at the discretion of those associated with the event and specifically waives any right to compensation for any of the foregoing.
