Help Us Protect and Diversify Nashville’s Most Notable Cultural, Economic, and Community Building Asset... Music!

Our nonprofit believes Music City needs to not only sustain but improve its ecosystem that supports and nurtures the music creation process. Currently, we feel that musicians are being taken for granted in our city despite their contributions to making Nashville a cultural and economic powerhouse in the Southeast region.

As Nashville continues to grow, we feel it’s important that our city acknowledges we need a thriving music community to maintain our city's identity as Music City. We want our city to continue to be a friendly and welcoming place for musicians that currently live here, to keep attracting new music artists to move here to hone their craft, and be the best place in the world for the creation of all genres of music.

You can make a difference by making a tax-deductible donation today to Music Neighbors! Help us make independent Nashville musicians feel valued, appreciated, and supported. They give so much to our city, and now we need to give back!

Help Us Expand Our Programming Capacity to Support 800 Musicians in 2024

To make sure original, authentic, and amazing music continues to be created in Music City, our core programming provides artists from all genres and demographics with equal access to essential resources and opportunities to support the music creation process and build sustainable music careers.

Money should never get in the way of making art... but often it does. We believe talented artists of any notoriety should be able to access professional recording studios to capture and produce high quality music. However, due to Nashville's rising cost of living, the financial barriers to record new music are deepening and hindering artists from being able to self-fund the creation of singles, EPs, and LPs.

To help address this issue, this program provides participating music artists/bands with FREE Full-Day Recording Sessions at local, professional, Nashville recording studios. We even pay for a video crew to capture and produce professional live in-studio performance videos to help artists market their new music! (Watch Overview Video)

Mental health advocacy is something that our nonprofit cares deeply about at its core. Our co-founder, Jason Garriott, lost his father unexpectedly at the age of 12. He didn't know how to process the trauma and shut down until discovering the catharsis of playing guitar as a form of talk therapy. Since we know first hand how beneficial music can be for mental health, we wanted to create a program that helps people navigate their mental health and healing journeys.

Through this series, we provide Nashville music artists with a platform for them to discuss how they use music therapeutically to maintain their mental health, manage trauma and life's challenges, and why music is such a great way to address societal issues in order to build stronger, more accepting communities. Music City is the nickname given to Nashville because of the incredible music community and the scene we have. However, it’s all too rare that our cities' live music events reflect several different genres and musical styles that Nashville has to offer.

We provide Nashville with the opportunity to explore several different styles of music at one artist showcase and through a new concert series we're currently developing. Our goal is to bring different demographics and music communities together to celebrate our scene and connect with people they typically wouldn't have the opportunity to meet.

To help the general public gain a better understanding of how songs are made, we wanted to provide viewers an insider's perspective to delve into the artistry of the music creation process. Our goal is to show viewers how much thought, effort, time, and resources go into producing the songs they love to listen to.

This video series intertwines live music performances with artists interviews in an intimate setting. Artists discuss what influences their composition and songwriting processes, explain the meaning behind their songs, and why music is important to them. (Watch Example Videos)
