CVRAN's Car Fund

Cars are a crucial part of daily life in this state, and New Vermonters need transportation to get to work, school, and engage fully with our shared community.

That’s why CVRAN created the Car Fund: to help newly arrived families finance their first vehicles. In 2024, thanks to donor support, CVRAN gave out 4 matching grants of $3,000 each. So far in 2025 we have had two requests for grant matches toward vehicles, including our neighbor pictured above next to his very own car!

This program does more than provide funding. Many volunteers have even stepped up to go car shopping and help folks learn the complex task of choosing a good-quality vehicle that is right for their needs.

The mission of the Central Vermont Refugee Action Network (CVRAN) is to welcome and provide support to refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, and migrant workers living in, working in, and visiting Central Vermont.
