Community Food Bank is a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization led by a Black female Executive Director, with governance overseen by a Black female Chairperson of the Board of Directors.

Since our humble beginnings as Loaves & Fishes Soup Kitchen in 1982, Community Food Bank has grown into a vital force in the fight against hunger and poverty. Today, we operate from a 43,000 sq. ft. facility equipped with a 6,000 sq. ft. freezer and 6,000 sq. ft. cooler. It allows us to specialize in giving fresh and frozen meats, produce, and dairy, along with canned and dry food to hungry families throughout Tarrant and Dallas Counties. We happily Feed Families without zip code restrictions!

Community Food Bank’s Feeding Hope Program is phenomenal for our clients standing in line for food. We meet their other crucial needs, enabling them to stretch their budget. Through great collaborations we freely give:

Pet food and supplies
Adult and child diapers and wipes
Baby formula, food, car seats, and strollers
Toiletries, hygiene and cleaning supplies
New clothes, new shoes
Small appliances like blenders, lamps, and microwaves
Large appliances like stoves, refrigerators, washers, and dryers

These are more than just donations, they are life-changing necessities that restore dignity and hope!

We are proud to be a debt-free nonprofit, operating with a small but mighty staff of 14 full-time and 1 part-time, supported by 40 – 50 dedicated volunteers a day. Our efficiency and impact are made possible by a strong board of directors i.e. Six Sigma, CPA and a community of generous supporters.
