Comingle is a public benefit project currently being grant-funded by ITSA Foundation that facilitates a modest universal basic income floor for all members. This floor is made possible by way of a 7% pledge on incomes that all members agree to in order to create an income floor of about $50 a week.

Here is a 90-second explainer video from Comingle's founder about how it works.
In the same way that UBI would have net payers and net recipients based on incomes, amount of UBI, and taxes, Comingle's 7% fee and a $50 a week income floor works out to a line being drawn at $3,095 (just under 300% of the federal poverty line) where those below that monthly income see an income boost that rises in proportion to their distance below the average, and those above the average donate an amount that rises in proportion to their distance above it.
In other words, the Comingle model—like universal basic income—relies on the participation of those who contribute more than they receive, choosing to directly support community members below the community average.
ITSA Foundation encourages those interested in participating in or otherwise supporting the project to begin giving today to the extent they are able. All donations through this page will go first toward Comingle's pilot phase and, after the platform launches, toward partially subsidizing the universal basic income floor for all of Comingle’s members
For those earning greater than Comingle’s $3,095/month break-even line in take-home pay, we’ve included monthly donation amounts that approximate the level of giving that your income would result in as a member of the Comingle platform once it has launched. If you’d like to calculate for a specific income, just multiply your monthly take-home income (e.g., after taxes) by 0.07 and then subtract $215. Please consider setting your monthly donation to that amount if you are able.
Now is the time to do more than believe—it's time to build. With your recurring donation, you'll help create a universal basic income floor in the here and now. This isn’t hoping for change—it’s infrastructure for a fairer economy, today. The vision is bold, but with collective investment, it’s not only possible—it’s inevitable. Be part of what future history will remember.
