Tobacco 21 Fund
Your contributions to the fund will support engagement and training of youth advocates, media conferences and other T21 events, travel to partner meetings, printing materials for legislators and community partners, intern support and more.
Vaping and nicotine use at a young age interferes with brain development, memory and learning, increases anxiety, depression, and increases risk for lifelong addiction to nicotine and experimenting with other substances.
NC is 6th highest in youth vaping rates because we are one of 9 states that have not established tobacco retail licensing, and one of 7 states that have not raised the sales age to 21 to be consistent with federal law.
The Tobacco 21 Coalition is advocating for Solly’s Law (HB 430/SB 318) to close these gaps and protect youth from the harms of vaping and nicotine. Enacting this law will protect NC from losing $5.6 Million in federal block grant funds for youth substance use prevention and treatment.
