7th and 8th Grade Trip to DC
Help Send Our 7th & 8th Graders to Washington, D.C.!
Our amazing 7th and 8th graders at NEMJDS are preparing for a powerful and meaningful trip to Washington, D.C. this May—and they need your help to make it happen!
This isn’t just a class trip. It’s the next step in a multi-year journey exploring civil rights, Jewish advocacy, and the power of standing up for justice. Over the years, our students have:
-
Studied The Lions of Little Rock and explored the intersections of civil rights and antisemitism
-
Taken a civil rights tour through Birmingham, Selma, and Montgomery
- Learned about the Holocaust with Mrs. Chessin and read the book The Children of Willesden Lane, even meeting the author and hearing more about her families experience during the Holocaust.
-
Researched and presented on modern Jewish advocacy organizations
Now, they’re ready to see it all in action—with visits to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, the White House, and other powerful sites that will bring their learning to life!
The challenge? The trip costs $1,200 per student, and we have 8 students going. This cost is prohibitive for some of our students. Every contribution gets us closer to our goal—and closer to making this experience possible for all!
Let’s reach our goal by April 30!
Your support makes a difference. Thank you for helping us bring learning to life!
Be sure to follow along with their trip in real time by following us on Facebook and Instagram!
