The New England Skate Riots (NESR) had an amazing 2021 thanks to parents, coaches and skaters willing to take a risk on a new team. Rising out the ashes of derby left by Covid, NESR enrolled 15 skaters who practiced 2x a week and we ended 2021 with an awesome scrimmage for all.

We started skating again because we knew that while the Covid risk was real, so was the mental health risk of having our skaters be at home without connection to their friends and the track. Skating fully masked wasn't always easy but our skaters did it so they could be together!

Our team is all genders welcoming, LGBTQ supporting and full of skaters who are eager to see (and hit!) their friends.

We've got big plans for 2022 and a donation from you can help us make it happen for the skaters. We want both to continue to be able to enroll skaters with a sliding scale registration fee, and to travel to play games where Derby is happening (outside of New England) and be able to financially support the skaters along the way. If Omicron allows we will be in Western Mass at the end of January, in Philadephia mid- February and who knows where after that.
