2026 Annual Campaign
In 2026, Neighborhood Food Solutions is seeking donations to help with expenses that are vital to the day-to-day operations of our training programs. While we are able to obtain small grants to assist with payroll and other programming expenses, there are 3 specific items that are not currently covered by grants.
1) Administrative costs include accounting, insurance policies and other professional services ($5,000)
2) Repairing our skid steer ($5,000-$10,000), used for:
Mixing compost materials (currently receive up to 1,500 pounds of material each week)
Creating raised beds (150 ft row can be made within 20 minutes which can yield up to a 1,000 pounds of produce)
Training beginning farmers on how to operate farm vehicles
3) Repairing our tractors+implements ($5,000-$10,000), used for:
Tilling new and existing plots of land (new tines to improve aeration efficiency)
Transplanting seedlings for expanded vegetable production (ability to plant a 150 ft row under 5 minutes
Trials of grain production such as wheat, rye, barley, kernza, corn (repairing hydraulics allows for a larger variety of implements to use)
Training beginning farmers on how to operate farm vehicles
