Support Immigrant Families Facing Detention in Cache Valley

As immigration enforcement activity rises in Cache Valley, more immigrant families are facing detention with little warning and limited access to legal support. This fundraiser helps cover urgent legal fees that can make the difference between prolonged detention, family separation, and a fair chance to fight a case.

This campaign is led by Lazoz in partnership with the Immigrant Support Action Group of Our Community Cache Valley. Together, we support Cache Valley immigrants through education and information sessions, direct assistance to detained individuals, and support for families left behind.

Legal help is often the first and most critical barrier. Initial consultations with immigration attorneys typically cost one hundred to three hundred dollars, yet these early conversations can prevent people from unknowingly signing paperwork that leads to long term detention or removal. Fast, informed legal intervention can make a world of difference.

One current case involves a mother and survivor of domestic violence and was later detained by ICE. Early legal consultation gave her the information and confidence to refuse signing paperwork that would have ended her case. She has now been detained in another state for months, separated from her son, but her case is moving forward because she had access to timely legal guidance.

Your donation helps provide initial legal consultations, support ongoing cases and appeals, and ensure that detained individuals receive the legal information they need when it matters most. Your support strengthens a community committed to keeping families informed, supported, and together.

We were able to draw on donated funds make our first full payment to an immigration attorney this week on behalf of one of the families we are supporting. We have also delivered support to another family! Great work everyone! Thank you for supporting our community in Cache Valley!!
