The Norton Memorial Infirmary Alumnae Nursing Scholarship will provide financial support and resources to Norton Healthcare CNA or LPN to obtain their RN license, or a pre-licensure Associates Degree in Nursing to Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Our nurses’ experiences will be enriched to prepare students to deliver exceptional healthcare upon graduation and for careers in health care leading to clinical excellence and leadership positions at the local, regional and national levels.
The Norton Memorial Infirmary School of Nursing opened its doors to the first class of student nurses in January of 1886; it closed on May 16, 1976. When students first entered the Norton Infirmary School of Nursing, they lived in the hospital for 36 months. Those student nurses worked as needed and took night calls as necessary. Norton was their home and the patients were their guests. This scholarship is designed to light the path forward for all nursing students that continue the tradition and profession of nursing.
