This Giving Tuesday, the National Museum of Mexican Art (NMMA) is celebrating Carlos Cortéz, one of Chicago’s most important social justice artists working in the 20th century.

When he passed, Carlos Cortéz entrusted his art and effects - including most of his print blocks - to NMMA with the instructions to create new prints should his artwork become unaffordable to working people. As part of our activities around the Carlos Cortéz 100 AÑOS (8/13/23-2/18/24) exhibition, NMMA commissioned the Instituto Gráfico de Chicago printmaking collective to recreate three of Carlos Cortéz's print blocks in order to make new copies. In honor of Giving Tuesday, we will raffle off one of these recreated prints to donors who make a gift of any size between 11/28 and 12/2.

What's more, Chicago leader Gloria Castillo is providing a matching grant that will double your Giving Tuesday donation! Gloria will match all gifts up to $10,000 to help make this campaign extra special.
