Bridge to Basics, the only hygiene bank in Minnesota, was established in the spring of 2024 and is dedicated to providing essential personal care hygiene products to nonprofits who serve hygiene insecure individuals and families. We function like a food bank by providing the needed and requested personal hygiene products free of charge to a network of nonprofits. Our current nonprofit partners range from east metro schools (including South Washington County School District), food shelves and refugee services; additionally, healthcare clinics have sought us out after patients have organically voiced hygiene insecurity during social determinants of health screening. We have heard from our current and future partners that they cannot keep up with the requests for these daily essentials, but they are trying because they know their value on the health and well-being of those they serve.
