About the Campaign

Project Embrace is an organization founded to improve global access to healthcare by collecting, sanitizing, and redistributing used medical devices to communities and individuals who would have difficulty accessing them normally. So when we learned about the impact of COVID-19 on our neighbors in the Navajo Nation, we knew we had to take action. We had the incredible opportunity to travel to the Navajo Nation in Southern Utah this summer and see firsthand how dire the situation was.

A majority of the nation's residents find themselves roughly two hours away from the nearest healthcare facility. For much of the geriatric and special needs patient population, that journey simply isn't an option. This problem is compounded by the lack of robust public infrastructure; for example, 10% of the population has no access to electricity and 30-40% have no access to running water. Although we were able to provide assistance to many people without access to healthcare, there was far more work to be done.

We want to do our part to help those that have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 by returning to service a community that's been hit hardest by this pandemic, but we can't do it alone. Our goal is to donate 200 devices, but a campaign of that scale requires serious resources. We're a team of student volunteers and are happy to do this work for no pay, however we do have transportation and business costs. For this campaign to happen, we're asking our community to help us raise $3,500. By donating any amount, however small, you're allowing us to help out a community that's struggled under this pandemic the most and you're helping Give Global Good.

About Project Embrace

Project Embrace was created when Mohan Sudabattula, Founder, experienced the hardships children went through in an orphanage in India ten years ago. He noticed that the children had some of the same ailments American children had, but without the medical means to treat them.

Since the launch of Project Embrace in 2017, Sudabattula and his team have reached across the world to give global good by repurposing unwanted medical devices those who need it most in places internationally like India, Mexico, Zimbabwe, and Eswatini.
