For four years, a mother and her family called a hotel room home. Every day brought uncertainty, but she never stopped striving for something better.

When she connected with NeighborUp for crisis assistance, she received help to cover her hotel balance—and that opened the door to something more. From there, she was referred to our case management program to take steps toward long-term housing stability.

She had already started searching for housing on her own. Through a family friend, she learned about a local rental home. She toured the house, met the owner, and felt hope for the first time in a long while. It was the right place—but she needed help to make it hers.

Thanks to support from NeighborUp, we were able to assist with the deposit and the first month’s rent. We also helped her secure a washer and dryer from ReStore, making her new house feel even more like home.

Today, she’s working at a local grocery store and is happy to have her family in a home. Her story is one of resilience, determination, and the power of community support.
