Hidden in the remote forests of Nepal lives the Raute—the last nomadic tribe of the Himalayas and one of the least-reached people groups on earth. They move with the seasons, living in temporary camps built from branches and leaves, untouched by modern life and almost entirely unengaged by the global church.

They have never had access to the gospel. No churches. No Scripture in their language. No disciple-makers among them.

Their world is changing fast—deforestation, poverty, lack of healthcare, and increasing pressure from surrounding villages. Yet spiritually, the Raute remain where they have always been unreached, unknown, and unengaged.

MCI is mobilizing local leaders in Nepal who are trained, equipped, and ready to walk forest trails, sit around campfires, build trust with Raute elders, and bring hope in ways that honor their culture and protect their safety. This is slow work. Careful work. Sacred work.
