The Great Plains Black History Museum is hosting its last event in this series, focusing on African Americans and North Omaha History, featuring Adam Fletcher Sasse, a lay and self-taught historian. A’Jamal Byndon will ask Adam a series of questions during the first part of this event and open it up to participants to raise questions, challenges, and ask questions about the important events in North Omaha and its residents.

As for the sheer volume of historical documents and articles, Adam has produced many interesting facts and books about North Omaha that are worth our consideration. Educational institutions and other public educational systems could increase their social capital in our community by utilizing those Pearls of Wisdom or knowledge to build cultural pride and values that have been historically ignored by state media and other public-funded institutions, which are currently whitewashing Black History in Nebraska. Adam also co-authored a chapter in Roots of Justice, a book on Race and Racism in Nebraska, from the perspectives of the various racial groups experiencing racism in our “good life” state.
