ADOPTING A JAGUAR

By adopting one of Las Oncas’ jaguar, you will get the chance to follow a wild jaguar in his journey through Costa Rica’s jungles. Thanks to our network of camera traps deployed in strategic locations, we track, detect and identify wild jaguars in the Osa Peninsula and the Talamanca Mountain range in the South Pacific region of Costa Rica.

As transparency is one of our fundamental principles at Las Oncas, we place great importance on ensuring that donors can directly witness the impact of their support.

This is why, upon adopting a jaguar, you will receive notifications each time your jaguar is detected. Furthermore, you will have access to all the video footage captured in the field through your personal account on lasoncas.com.

By adopting a jaguar through Las Oncas, you are playing a crucial role in gathering valuable data essential for estimating the jaguar population in Costa Rica. These data, besides being shared with environmental organizations, empower us to lay the groundwork for establishing the Las Oncas Conservation Reserve.

This protected area will serve as a sanctuary for jaguars along their primary routes in the South Pacific region of Costa Rica. Furthermore, your monthly donation will support funding expeditions to remote camera trap sites, acquiring equipment, and maintaining expedition vehicles.
