I’m climbing for hope again. Will you support our efforts to fund cancer research?
This year, our team will attempt to raise $35,000 for cancer research by summiting Mt. Olympus in Washington State.
I’ll again be climbing for my mom, who beat breast cancer, and for my pal Buzz Foreman who lost his battle with brain cancer nearly two years ago.
Here’s an example of how your support helps.
Only after showing proof of concept can researchers go after the big grants required for breakthroughs. This is where Climb For Hope steps in, providing unrestricted funds for novel research ideas. We call it “startup research.” For several years, Climb For Hope funded a Johns Hopkins graduate researcher to support Dr. Andrew Ewald’s work to prevent breast cancer cells from metastasizing, or traveling to other parts of the body, where it becomes lethal. The $100,000 we provided allowed his team to build a proof of concept that recently received $35M in funding.
Whether you donate or not, send me the names of your loved ones who have been affected by cancer, and I’ll write their names on the prayer flags our team will carry to the summit in their honor. We will send their names into the wind with prayers of gratitude and healing.
In Love,
Danny Kaplan
