The 2026 MLK Memorial Breakfast, presented by the Family Legacy Foundation, KZWA 104.9 FM, and L’Auberge Casino Resort, will once again bring the Southwest Louisiana community together for a morning of unity, reflection, and inspiration.

Join us, Friday, January 16, 2026 at L'Auberge Casino resort at 8:00am for the annual MLK Memorial Breakfast.

Centered around the theme “Honoring the Dream, Building the Legacy,” this powerful gathering will celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s enduring vision of justice, equality, and service. Attendees will hear from dynamic speakers, enjoy soulful music, and witness the next generation of leaders as students present their winning MLK Essay Contest pieces. The breakfast continues to be a cornerstone of hope and progress, reminding all in attendance of the power of collective action and community uplift.

Together, the Family Legacy Foundation, KZWA 104.9, and L’Auberge Casino Resort invite the community to celebrate not just the progress made, but the legacy we continue to build for generations to come.

Join us for a powerful morning of praise, reflection, and unity, Sunday, January 18, 2026. Local faith leaders and choirs come together to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Through song, scripture, and spoken word, we celebrate his vision of love, justice, and service to all humankind.

Monday, January 19, 2026, we'll kick of this amazing day with the annual MLK Parade, leaving the Lake Charles Event Center. Line-up for the parade begins at 8:30am and the parade leaves promptly at 11:00 am.

Immediately following the parade bring the whole family out for a day of fun, food, and community! Enjoy live music, local vendors, a Kid Zone full of activities, and our famous Gumbo Cook-Off. It’s a celebration of unity, culture, and family, ALL FREE and open to the public!
