Happy Anniversary to Wings of Hope Cancer Support Center.

Our family of staff, board members, volunteers, donors and supporters have been making connections with those touched by cancer for 30 years! During this time, we've listened to the experiences and emotions shared by patients, care partners and survivors. And we've learned that when faced with challenging events, if individuals translate their emotion-filled experiences into language, they begin to understand and find meaning in their story.

I have had the unique opportunity to share my cancer and life story over 22 years of working at Wings of Hope. As I listen to the experiences of others, I have learned and grown as an individual. What started as service to others grew into deep connection and interwoven stories that have changed my life. Jennifer Healey says, "Sharing your story is heart work." I am so thankful for the heart work that has been a cornerstone of my daily interactions at this special nonprofit. I am looking forward to transitioning into my new role as part-time companion counselor and healing touch practitioner.

Wings of Hope is writing a new chapter of our story with the hiring of a full-time executive director. Abbey Loughman will join our team in November. She has a passion for nonprofits, and brings a dynamic and authentic energy to all that she does. We are looking forward with excitement to the paths our story will take.
