My name is Susan Wood Duncan and my daughter, Charlie Duncan is currently attending the Norwalk Conservatory of the Arts where she is THRIVING! And this is why I am thrilled to be participating in the Norwalk Conservatory of the Arts first annual gala; Puttin’ on the Glitz! I look forward to sharing the stage with Charlie and all of her talented classmates!

We feel so fortunate to have found Norwalk Conservatory. Charlie describes it as an “inspiring and magical school with an outstanding staff, exceptional training and a supportive atmosphere to grow and learn.” NoCo is a 501(c)(3) non-profit institution that relies on generous support of donors and sponsors to help achieve their mission of offering scholarships to all students. So, let’s support the school and these current and future students so they can achieve their dreams of becoming and continuing to be professional performing artists!

Susan Wood Duncan's Bio:

Susan is best known for originating the role of Sandy in the Broadway Revival of Tommy Tune’s GREASE alongside Rosie O’Donnell and Billy Porter. Her Broadway debut was in David Henry Hwang’s play, FACE VALUE at the Cort Theatre (now renamed the James Earl Jones Theatre). She also played Evelyn Nesbit in the American Premiere of RAGTIME starring Brian Stokes Mitchell and LaChanze at the Shubert Theatre in Los Angeles, where she earned an Ovation Award Nomination. Off Broadway, Susan originated the role of Gladys in EATING RAOUL. She has done numerous National and International Tours, including GRAND HOTEL, CHESS and GREASE. Susan has performed throughout the US and Canada in regional theatre productions such as GODSPELL and LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, both at the Muny Opera House in St. Louis, GUNMETAL BLUES (Colony Theatre), OF THEE I SING (Cleveland Playhouse-Keefer Award for Best Supporting Actress), AND THE WORLD GOES ROUND (Santa Clarita Regional Theatre) and JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR (Birmingham Theatre) to name a few. Susan starred in the feature film, THE TWELVE DOGS OF CHRISTMAS and was a series regular on THE JAMIE FOXX SHOW where she met her husband, Christopher B. Duncan. She has an extensive list of guest starring and recurring roles on TV shows including DOPESICK, THEM, ME, FRASIER, THE NAKED TRUTH, STACKED, THE PARKERS, MOVIE STARS, STEP BY STEP, PENSACOLA, MAYBE THIS TIME, SILK STALKINGS, CHICAGO SONS, THE SECRET WORLD OF ALEX MACK, GEENA and many others. She was a recurring sketch performer on THE CONAN O’BRIAN SHOW. Susan has performed on The Tony’s and on numerous talk shows including GOOD MORNING AMERICA, THE JOAN RIVERS SHOW and MARILU. She has a solo song on Meatloaf’s WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD album and is featured on the cast albums of GREASE, EATING RAOUL and XENA, THE WARRIOR PRINCESS. Susan studied drama at NYU, acting with Howard Fine in Los Angeles and studied voice with renowned vocal coach, Eric Vetro.
