🎉In honor of my 40th birthday I would be grateful for your support of a cause, and an organization, that mean a lot to me. ❤️
For the past year I have working with Girls Helping Girls. Period., a nonprofit that fights PERIOD POVERTY. In case you don't know, period poverty affects millions of Americans who simply can not afford basic periods supplies like pads and tampons. As a result they can miss school and work, suffer from low self-esteem, and not participate fully in life. All because they menstruate!
GHGP does a lot to educate the public about this little known issue:
-Advocating for policies and laws that create equity in public spaces like schools. (Everyone finds toilet paper in every bathroom, but half the population also needs pads/tampons to manage a healthy, bodily function without risk of embarrassment, health concerns or loss of education or employment.)
-Donating millions of menstrual products in under-resourced communities through a network of agency partners
-Providing workshops that teach healthy menstrual management in a safe environment without stigma (that's what I do! I organize and teach these workshops... and I LOVE IT!)
** I would like to use the money from this fundraiser to purchase these books for our workshop participants 📚
Thank you for your donation, and I can tell you the students I help empower are so grateful, too!
