Operation Iron Ruck Foundation (OIRF) is a veteran-led nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness about the veteran suicide epidemic and supporting mental health initiatives. The Foundation serves as the governing and sustaining body behind the annual Operation Iron Ruck march, while the Auburn Student Veterans Association (ASVA) and the University of Alabama Student Veterans Association (UASVA) provide the student leadership, participants, and on- the-ground energy that bring the event to life.

Each year, student veterans from Auburn and Alabama ruck march more than 150 miles carrying the weight of their fallen brothers and sisters, raising awareness across communities, and delivering critical support to veterans in need. OIRF ensures the continuity, funding, logistics, and expansion of the mission, while the student veteran associations embody its spirit and carry it forward on behalf of their universities.
