OJCYF empowers me to take action in my community while teaching me about Jewish values. Ever since I joined the organization 3 years ago, I have gotten to know more Jewish peers and I have learned about Oregon's Jewish community. I've been able to participate in several grant making rounds and site visits. Every time I get to visit a nonprofit and learn about their operations, I feel so happy that OJCYF is able to help them fulfill their mission. Last winter, I did a site visit at the Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education. All the volunteers there were super hard-working and kind. They talked about all the ways that they support the Jewish community and educate about Judaism. They were especially thankful for OJCYF's past funding, and they were adamant about how much of a difference it made. The volunteers even described how they were able to use some of OJCYF's funding to support their successful campaign to make Holocaust education mandatory in Oregon. OJCYF is able to help so many organizations like OJMCHE because of the generous support from donors. (Last year, $70,000 was granted to 52 organizations). OJCYF stands out from other foundations because not only do we help support our community, but we also learn about Jewish values and in turn are set up to be the next generation of philanthropists. This year, even more nonprofits are looking for support to help navigate COVID. We will be hosting a benefit event on April 24th. The more money we raise, the more good we can do for those who need it. Every donation counts!
Thank you for your support.
