Unveiling the Mind: Exploring Mental Health’s Impact on Identity
In partnership with The Bunker SLO, Transitions-Mental Health Association (TMHA) invites people of all ages to submit art inspired by personal journeys towards mental wellness for the annual Opening Minds Art Show. The exhibit takes place during the month of May to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Month, celebrating the connection between mental health and identity through the power of creative expression.

About the Event
Opening Minds, first developed in 1995, is a community-driven event that celebrates living mentally well and champions the belief that we should be defined by our strengths, gifts, and contributions to the world—not by any diagnosis or label. TMHA’s goal with this event is to expand community awareness about mental health and reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness. This year, the theme "Unveiling the Mind" will explore the complex relationship between mental health and identity. Artists are invited to reflect on how mental health shapes our sense of self, from struggles to resilience, from stigma to empowerment
