We have not because we ask not so here is to big dreams and lives changed!

For those that don’t know, this is a project that is close to my heart because during our journey as foster and adoptive parents we saw and felt the need that the Foster Pantry now fills for these children and their caregivers by providing immediate access to essential items (clothing, toiletries, school supplies, cribs, baby equipment, etc) at no charge.

I’ve taken all of my placements with only same day notice and they all came with nothing but the clothes on their back or unusable supplies. No car seat, no crib, no shoes, no clothes that fit, bottles, diapers, or formula. I’ve been on numerous trips to Target and Walmart and spent hundreds of dollars each time to help a child get settled in my home with all of the necessary items. I’ve done so without knowing if that child will be in my home for days, weeks or years. When the kids left, I sent items with them, forcing me to reinvest in countless other items to provide for another child. I have friends that did this several times in one year. It’s a financial commitment that most cannot bear the burden of and should not have to spend their life savings on.

Foster care is not for everyone, but everyone can help and do their part to give these children great homes! If there is one thing foster care has taught me it is that there are lots of people out there that want to help, they just don’t know the greatest need. That is where the Foster Pantry comes in.
